Specifications and Brief

For the refurbishment and creation of new Laboratories for the Chemistry Department, Sanders Boston Architects selected the UK-manufactured Komfort Polar 70S and Polar 100 system because of the space-saving attributes of the Sliding Sonik Pocket Doors and its excellent acoustic properties at 35dB(Rw) and its seamless integration with the Polar 100 system.

The Solution:

Barnes Construction appointed Interco Contacts as the preferred and trusted Komfort Partner to oversee the integration and installation of this technical glazed system.

By making the early appointment Barnes Construction were able to call on the technical experience of Interco to provide detailed design drawings and to coordinate the installation alongside other trades on a project that was challenging in terms of access and limited working areas in an occupied and fully in-use wing of the University. The project was delivered with meticulous detail and is a credit to everyone involved.
