Specifications and Brief

The Background

St Barnabas Church was a Gothic Church originally designed by JS Alder and built in 1912.

Developers Cullen & Davies have converted the magnificent building into 21 high quality apartments and have protected and restored the original features with Architects Boon Brown incorporating these into a contemporary design.

Komfort Polar 30 & 35 Kross Glaze Partitions and Komfort Sonik Doors Installed

The Solution

Komfort Polar 30 & 35, Kross Glaze Partitions and Komfort Sonik Doors were specified for the project. The architects were keen to ensure great acoustic performance for this residential development. It was important to be able to achieve the required loading and guarding building regulations where the partitions were installed at mezzanine edges.

Polar 35 was utilised with toughened and laminated glass where ceiling heights exceeded 3400mm high and Sonik doors were set as ‘floating’ door sets into curved and scribed glass screens, highlighting the existing stone columns and arches. Contractors for the award winning project were Aclo Contracts and Interco Projects supplied, delivered and installed the bespoke Komfort Glazed Partition Screens and doors.
